The urban renewal project, curated by Ai Progetti in collaboration with the Spanish studio Teresa Sapey + Partners and Francesca Heathcote Sapey, was featured in an article in the Rome edition of La Repubblica on Saturday, July 6th.
The article highlights our intervention aimed at regenerating a large building in the Garbatella neighborhood, which has been abandoned for over a decade. The project, supported by Rome’s Urban Planning Councillor Maurizio Veloccia, aims at urban redevelopment, with significant positive impacts for the community, both in terms of revitalizing the neighborhood and economic and employment benefits.
In accordance with the essential sustainability requirements expected for a redevelopment of this nature, the interventions include the use of extremely high-performance and highly recyclable materials, as well as technologies meant to reduce energy consumption and mitigating environmental impact, utilizing solar energy to meet a large part of the building’s energy needs.
