The project concentrates on the re-functionalization of two buildings, one on Via Longhin and one on Via Savelli, buildings where rooms will be obtained for the students of the University of Padua, and on the conversion of the ground floors where coworking space and common spaces will be obtained for users of the facilities and people living in the neighborhood.
In detail, 144 rooms are obtained for each building, for an overall total (Via Savelli Building + Via Longhin Building) of 288 beds. In the evaluation of intervention hypotheses for the conversion to student housing, different scenarios were evaluated, especially in relation to the critical issues found in the current envelope of the two buildings and the hypothesis of proceeding with an improvement in the energy performance of the building, prolonging its life and making it more attractive, in the long term, the use of resources for investment by the Client. Several intervention scenarios were developed, evaluating energy needs, operating costs, implementation time and economic estimates for each.
